Success with LEAN depends on the development of a coaching leadership and employeeship – a coaching culture

Area: Coaching

Session on Wednesday, Jun 24th, 13:50
» Where on timetable

Po Lindvall is an executive coach with twenty five years experience of coaching, and a Ph.D. candidate. He has coached business leaders in several sectors, as well as sports coaches and top athletes, several of them in national teams and also professional athletes. His doctoral thesis working title is “Bridging the gap between art and science in evidence based executive coaching”.

As Po has been a manager and a sports coach, and later became an executive coach to business managers, the creation of a high performance culture has been one of his main interest. Both in his role as a leader and as a coach to leaders in organisations and sports teams he has found that lasting high performances in an organisation is dependent on leaders ability to build high performance cultures, as “Culture Matters Most” (Harvard Business Review, 2005).

What are the main causes to the developmental success in the studied organisations?

The findings show how the creation of a successful coaching culture has developed of over fifteen years. The research has also been able to show how coaching leadership develops employeeship, and how this development is a prerequisite for being successful with a LEAN initiative in an organisation.
The evidence presented can be of great help for practitioners to present a case for the development of coaching leadership – employeeship – and a coaching culture – to increase productivity and employee health. As well as designing and delivering such a program for an organisation.
